Re: Rover 10hp 1939, electrics.
I fitted a battery isolation switch on the inner wing. I used a piece of steel angle, drilling holes on one side to match the wing securing bolts (slightly longer bolts were needed) and another hole to suit the switch on the second side. It means that I don't have to disconnect the battery (which is...

Re: Rover 10hp 1939 Harmonic Balancer-Bumper
When I bought my '46 Ten in 1983 there were wooden washers in the bumper. Eventually, after a number of years, I replaced the wooden washers with lead ones. It made no difference whatsoever.

Re: Auto lube
Hard work certainly, but still achievable, I've just greased my car in just under 10 minutes including jacking it up, but not including the 10 minutes I spent wondering where I'd put my grease gun lol.

Re: Auto lube
When I bought my '46 Ten, 30 years ago, the lubrication system was missing and I couldn't be bothered replacing it. Over the years I've replaced the steering joints & king pins with ones designed to be greased. My car isn't original but it works fine and I don't mind spending 10 minutes with a greas...

Re: Clock
I fitted a quartz movement to mine several years ago. The only problems were the hole in the dial was too small so I scanned & printed a dial onto thin card and used that, also the holes in the old hands weren't big enough for the quartz movement. It was an easy enough job to cut some new hands out ...

Re: Club car badge
Any decent motor factor that sells paint for cars will be able to mix paint to your sample. You usually need to leave a part for them to work to, something like a footwell air-vent cover or wheel would be more than large enough.

Re: Tool tray
I don't think the spanners in p2 tool trays were marked 'Rover', they were 'Snail Brand', ones marked 'Rover' would be from an earlier car. I seem to recall the MG Car Club had some new spanners, marked 'Snail Brand' made a few years ago which they were selling.
