I see this old saw never dies! The original intention of the Committee was to define 1934-1947 cars away from pre 1934 or P3 and as P3 was the definition for 1948-9 cars P2 was selected. The RSR sold an aluminium alloy anodised head in the 70s being a copy of the Hawkins Trophy which was a genuine Rover product of 1929. These can be identified as they are all numbered underneath! Hi folks, Now I have sorted my login I can reply! I replied on OldRovers exciting a lot of comment. Way back the old RSR Committee adopted P2 as a descriptor for all models 1934 - 1947. However since '2' is more than '1' some people have been trying to find a reason for 'P1', I ask why? Such changes...
