Fuel line Rover P2 10hp

Moving away from my concerns with regard to fuel reserve changeover unit in tank which is now working with a distinctive 'click' to the solenoid on the tank valve. Progressing with the fuel line overhaul. The flexible braided fuel line connecting from fixed chassis pipe adjacent to engine requires r...

Petrol tank reserve valve 1939 10HP

Hello. Nearly there with this restoration . I find the change over valve is not functioning on tank and a continuity test to coil suggests an open circuit.
Has anyone repaired this unit or if I cannot obtain part will it default to work without electrical energising of coil?

Re: Rover 10hp 1939, electrics.

Hello again Many thanks for the replies to my electrics questions. Very much appreciated . Following on from this I have ordered a loom from Autosparks with 5/6 weeks delivery! This loom will be able to cope with flashing semaphore as well as front & rear indicators. I will look at additional fuse p...

Rover 10hp 1939, electrics.

I'm shortly to embark upon rewiring this car . The existing wiring looks pretty original but in tact , although the bullet connectors in some under bonnet positions appear perished. I prefer to re wire myself going back to 1st principles and route the cables within the car bodywork. Tidily under car...

Now that's interesting. I will remember this when the car is roadworthy with all its vibrations! Thanks.

Re: Rover 10hp 1939 Harmonic Balancer-Bumper

Thanks to all for the quick and valued reply to my puzzlement!
I'm now at the point of fitting the complete assembly and the car is really not roadworthy for experimenting with and without harmonic balancer in place.

Thank you . Peter

Rover 10hp 1939 Harmonic Balancer-Bumper

Hello. Can anyone please inform of the function of the front bumper harmonic stabilizer as fitted on my restoration 10hp saloon ? It incorporates lead washers at both extremes together with an 'O' ring within the underside of chromed end caps. Is there any adjustment requirements? Thank you. Peter .

Re: Rover 10hp 1939 Windscreen seal

I have now discovered the reason for the gap at both curved ends of the windscreen to body. In desperation and as the last check I could think of. I placed a steel straight edge along the outside length of the screen glass at about centre height and to my absolute astonishment observed that the glas...
