A popular swap is to fit a 1.6 or 1.8l K series which should pretty much drop straight in.

Thanks to a mate, I have acquired a better bonnet than the aerosol painted one on the car, plus a pair of rear doors that are more tidy than those currently on the car. I've made a start on replacing the rear screen on this. The old plastic window had gone brittle and recently cracked whilst the hood was being lowered.
