Re: Coleford Festival of Transport

A very nice set of pics Richard. There are other cars out there besides our main favourites and its nice to see them featured. For several years now I have been tempted to go that show but so far have not made it. I did have an excuse this year as ill health would have stopped me. I must see if I ca...

Re: National rally 2009

Having been to Forde Abbey before I agree it is rather expensive as a venue for this type of occaison. The setting at the front of the house is excellent and the gardens are stunning when in full bloom. The fountains if working are spectacular and I can recommend the cream teas. I would have thought...

Re: Two different Rovers snapped yesterday

I am led to believe that both cars should be attending the RSR National at Sparkford in 2009.

Re: Two different Rovers snapped yesterday

I think from memory the 'Black and Green' Rover is 1936. The Grey one is 1938 and I think has a larger engine.

Two different Rovers snapped yesterday

The following two Rovers attended a Christmas Gathering at the Sun Inn at Dorchester yesterday lunchtime. The Grey Rover belongs to Mark alias rover p5, and the Green and Black one belongs to Mark Kirby. http://usera.ImageCave.com/Dorsetflyer/CARS/Sun%20Inn%20Dorchester%202008%20001-1.jpg http://use...

Re: Stone of Destiny

I thought that the rear window on the Phase 1 was in two sections very like the early Beetles, and there were two different sizes of rear window. The grilles on the Phase 1 changed at least twice in the production run which finished in1952 when the Phase 2 came in. This confirms the one in the film ...

Rover 3 litre Coupe

Seeing as there were no posts on this site I decided to start the ball rolling by adding pics of my early 3litre Coupe. These cars started production in early 1963 and this is one of only 180 Automatics produced in that year. http://usera.ImageCave.com/Dorsetflyer/roverp5b/Gartell%20Light%20Railway%...

You may well be right, and in the same context there is a very high P4 ownership in this area as well.

Re: Hello All

Phil you're obviously jealous of those being retired after a long career achieving not a lot. Never mind your turn will come in the end and you can join us with all your cars down in sunny Weymouth. 8-) Why bypass Weymouth to go on to Cornwall, it is one of the wettest parts of the south coast. West...

Re: Is this car still around?

The registration 'MJ' was in fact LUTON (Beds) right up until 1974, and applied to 'NM' and 'TM'.
