Chassis Plate
A recent visitor to our local Rover Car Clubrooms here in Nelson, New Zealand gave us a chassis plate that he had found in his garage. Made of brass, with two small screw holes, it shows the Rover Car Company of Coventry with a stamped number of LD43302. Does anyone recognise this number sequence, i...

MEMS Relay
I don't hold a great deal of hope that I will get a response from this thread, as I see the last entry was nearly 2 years ago!
Anyway, can anyone tell me where I can find the MEMS relay in a post-1996 Rover 416 (Manual)?
Greetings from the Antipodes!

Re: P2 Gearbox Oil
Hi, I will certainly check that out at our local Penrite agent. One thing I have leanrned since arriving in NZ, is that you might expect things easily obtainable in or from Australia would be on the shelf here in NZ, but it is far from the truth. I found that when looking for a suitable autobox flui...

P2 Gearbox Oil
What is the recommended oil to put in a 1947 Rover 12 gearbox, these days? The handbook says 40W, but that is only obtainable in 10 litre quantities at vast expense, on special order, here in New Zealand.
Any suggestions?

P2 Dashboard strip down
I have now got to the point where I need to remove the instrument panel and wood dashboard for refurbishment. I have managed to remove the heavily rusted screws only accessible with the windscreen open, the wiper knobs, and the rather numerous nuts that hold the instrument panel in place ( except th...

Front bumper bar & fixings
I am trying to restore a 1947 Rover 12 that until recently was in regular use, but has now got to the point where quite a lot of work needs to be done. I was given 2 starting handles, one long and one short. When checking which one was right I realised that I could use neither as the front bumper ba...

Spark Plugs
Can anyone advise whether the 1947 Rover 12 used long reach or short reach Spark Plugs? The NGK equivalents are quoted in the RSR P2 Workshop manual, but I cannot find anywhere which tells me the correct plug for that engine.

Re: P3 Tyres
Thanks guys, certainly given me something to think about. To give you a rough idea of costs here in New Zealand, a set of four 600x16 good quality crossplies, would cost me just under $NZ2000, approx 1300 pounds, but four 175Rx16 Austone Taxi tyres would be around $NZ800. As you can see there is a m...

P3 Tyres
I am faced with replacing the tyres on my 1949 6 light P3 75. At present it is on 600x16 crossplies, (of unknown age, but known decrepitude). My P3 does not do a great annual mileage, but the miles it does do are on roads that are certainly not up to the UK standards, including unsealed roads, and r...

Re: Rover 825 KV6 Waterpumps
Sorry I meant to include on my last message. I looked into getting a Kia Sedona water pump. These are still available via the Kia agencies, but others who have been down this route advised extreme caution. The replacement pumps are now made in Taiwan with very suspect quality control. One Freelander...
