P3 Sunroof.
Hi all, can anyone tell me what material to use for the middle section of the watertray beneath the fixed sunroof. The manual refers to felt with a timber frame beneath. Is this bituminous (roofing) felt? Any suggestions? I've nearly finished fabricating a new watertray and rear drains. I only have ...

Re: P3 Battery Earth Cable.
Sorry for jumping in to this thread but I am also wondering about the earth strap from the engine -in this case on my P2 DHC. Mike Evans thought it should be on the gearbox to the chassis but I cannot see anything at all there on mine or anything which looks like a terminal. Should there be an eart...

Re: P3 Battery Earth Cable.
I cannot give you an exact figure as I am away from home at the moment and will not be back for another week but it is not long, about a foot, and I would have to look at the car to tell you where it is bolted to, it's over 20 years since I put mine on and I cannot remember now where it goes. I'm s...

P3 Battery Earth Cable.
Hi folks, does anyone happen to know the approx length of the P3 battery earth cable and where it should be bolted to? Also, anyone know a source of new front coil springs - mine appear to have sagged somewhat over the years! The car is a '48 60.
Thanks, Matt Jagger.
Thanks, Matt Jagger.

Re: paint for firewall of P3
Mine has the same coating on the upper surfaces - presumably for sound deadening/anti-drumming reasons. My solution was to over-paint it with black Smoothrite, which smartens it up no end. Cheers, Matt.

Re: P3 In Kent.
Sorry to hear about Fred. Now I know that the radio is the genuine article, and not one of Don's off-beat impulse purchases, I'll have a proper look this weekend and hopefully figure out how it fits. Thanks Tony.

Re: P3 In Kent.
Hi Tony, yes I have the radio - a huge thing in a box? Not really looked at that yet - did it come with the car? I also have various photos of you and Fred with the P3 and one showing it loaded on a trailer before any work had been done. Was most of the work done by Fred or the chap in Garforth? Why...

Re: P3 In Kent.
Thank you for the photos Stewart. It seems to be much simpler than I imagined - just a strip of steel and easy to fabricate. Thanks chaps! I'm sure I'll be posting further questions in the relevant bit of the forum. Pleased to see you're still on the Forum Tony - I'm making steady progress (engine r...

Re: P3 In Kent.
I've never used Photobucket before, so lets hope this works...... http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/pigbog1/008_zpss2eatcle.jpg It's the gap of about 1" you can see behind the gearbox cover that is lacking something. The parts list describes it as 'Bridge piece' but there is no illustration. I ...

P3 In Kent.
Hi folks, Just a little introduction - my name's Matt and I took over a long-stalled restoration of a P3 60 4-light last year. GFH 124 had been in York (latterly with my late father in law) for many a year with little or no progress. Prior to that it resided in the Leeds area I believe - it was at t...
