Re: 1934 Rover 12 Voltage regulator
Hi All, Opens the debate about originality verses reliability. On my 10/25 and my vintage bike I have replaced the old regulator with a modern electronic one. It can be fitted inside the old regulator box so all looks original from outside and gives much better regulation and is much more reliable. ...

Rover 10/25 Gearbox Bush / Bearing Modification
I have previously posted about a fault I had with the gearbox on my 1929 10/25. The issue was around the bush between the input shaft and the output shaft (the output shaft runs inside the input shaft) (pic1), (pic2). As you can see there was nothing left of the bush (pic3)! This would seem to be a ...

Re: 1929 10/25 Jumping out of 3rd gear
The diagram shows how it was and is. The spring and ball under the shaft is how it should be. This design made it impossible to check the spring and ball unless the selector was removed from the gearbox which meant a complete strip down. The odd thing is why the hole above the shaft is threaded with...

Re: 1929 10/25 Jumping out of 3rd gear
So I solved the mystery of the missing spring. If you look at my very rough sketch you will see that the spring was underneath the shaft pushing the ball bearing up. So it was impossible to remove without dismantling the gearbox. Removed the box and dismantled and found the ball and spring intact bu...

1929 10/25 Jumping out of 3rd gear
Hi All, I have had an issue with my 1929 10/25. It will occasionally jump out of 3rd gear. Decided to investigate today as the garage had warmed up a bit. I removed the gear lever and turret. I removed the bolt with a tab washer from the threaded holes that are ringed in the pictures expecting to fi...
