Re: WANTED 1937 Fourteen steering parts
Yes my set up is the same as your 12. I'll get there one day. Thanks for all your help, all these little bits of info I'm collecting will add up to an answer I'm sure. What I really need is to find another one the same as mine for comparison, not had much luck in that department so far. Thanks again...

Re: WANTED 1937 Fourteen steering parts
Hi Dave A better pic showing measurements on my steering arms, didn't realise some measurements were obscured. Also all the holes for the steering joins are in the same direction ie they all sit on the top of the arms. There is a front axle from a '46. 10 on eBay showing the arms with connecting rod...

Re: WANTED 1937 Fourteen steering parts
There's no urgency at all on this, I'll not be going anywhere soon in this present climate. The numbers on your parts mean nothing to me, so many differences. I've been trying to sort this steering for quite a while now and my thoughts are that if the two arms were a different length, I think slight...

Re: WANTED 1937 Fourteen steering parts
My book only goes up to 1938
That number 40461, by my book, is for 39, 37, 38. 10 and 12
My drop arm 40464 fits the 35 - 38 14 saloon and the 37 - 38 12 sports saloon.
Also if my drop arm had a bend downwards it would help with interference to the O/S spring.
Hope the pics make sense.

Re: WANTED 1937 Fourteen steering parts
Hi Dave, Thanks for the heads up re the 39 - 47 parts list, I've got the 34 - 38 list. It shows the track rod levers are the same (41340 & 41336) on the 34 - 38. 10, 12 & 14 So these arms were used a lot. The numbers on mine are (65679 & 65680) I have no idea where they came from, much higher number...

Re: 1937 Fourteen Steering
Fair comment on the past owners Tony, it’s just that my old dad used to say “if you want a job done right son, do it yourself” but I guess not everybody is or can be like that. I did get a reasonable sounding cost of repair/reconditioning all four from Brost Forge, Holloway. Obviously when I’m ready...

Re: 1937 Fourteen Steering
Hi Mike, thanks for your input. I have not dismantled the front end, just the steering parts at the moment, the car had a total rebuild/renovation 1989 - 1990 photo album to prove came with the car along with loads of history. I guess the owners (around six) in between the rebuild and my purchase ju...
