rear springs
Hi All
I have a saggy rear-end. But enough of my personal problems!
The back end of my '39 14 is looking a bit low. I guess the springs are starting to show their age. Is it simply a case of replacing them or is there an alternative fix?

Re: Sticky gears
Bodged it by shoving a couple of bits bent Meccano down either side of the gearbox. Seems to have lifted it just enough. Will go for a more permanent fix eventually.

Re: Will this fit...
Thanks Chris. I did toy with idea of making one but decided it was beyond by skills. I might well take you up on the offer of an adjustable spanner. I half expected to see you at Rushdens Wartime Event last weekend.

...my 1939 14 six-light? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221913649998? ... EBIDX%3AIT
Obviously this is a post-war car and mine is pre-war. I only want the tool tray as mine is missing, but I need to be sure it is the right one.

Re: Sticky gears
OK having re-read the thread it seems I need to raise the gearbox a bit. I think I understand. Will have a go later.

Re: Sticky gears
Thanks luli. So are you saying that the control shaft needs to be lowered slightly in relation to the gearbox? I'm not sure how to do that. I have noticed that the bolt on top selector arm has been rubbing on the underside of the inspection plate. All advice gratefully received but keep it simple pl...

Sticky gears
I pulled on to my drive today and my '39 14 got stuck in third. Gear lever was stuck solid. I removed the remote control housing. Control shaft was able to move freely. Couldn't see anything wrong. Put it all back together and it seemed OK. Put it in reverse to turn round and it got stuck in reverse...
