Another Rover joins the family

I became the proud owner of a 1970 P5b coupe today. Had to drive it home in the sleet and snow. This joins my 1936 14 saloon and LR discovery. Question - the colour is dove grey, it's a good paint job except for a run on the roof, it's done in 1 pack so getting rid of it will be difficult. I plan on...

Re: Website

I've been looking at the ads on the website. Are they all current? Some of them were posted in 2011.

Re: Rover 14 Sports 4 Light - new member

I’ve got a similar problem on my 1936 14 saloon. I have completely refurbished the downdraught SU, the tappets are set correctly, and the compression on all cylinders is bob on. No matter what additives I put in the petrol I can’t cure the rough and underpowered running when it gets hot (it never bo...

Re: Downdraft SU carbs

To answer my own question.

I've been in touch with SU carbs in Salisbury and they confirmed that the downdraft carb on my 1936 14 shouldn't have a damper piston but should have have a spring.

Bonnet release catch bracket.

1936 14 saloon

Could someone post the dimensions and maybe a picture of the bonnet release catch retaining bracket which is fixed to the offside bulkhead. If just taking a picture could a ruler be placed next to the bracket so I can work out the dimensions.

Thanks
John

Downdraft SU carbs

It's my first attempt at refurbing SU downdafts. I note that mine don't have a damper piston but do have the spring in the dash pot. Is this correct?

Thanks

Re: Auto lube meter valves

You wouldn't have W24 Meter valve steering 41385? I thought I'd got them all working save the ones previously mentioned, but this one/s proving stubborn!!

You must like the heat Chris. Cyprus in July!!!

Many thanks

Re: Auto lube meter valves

Thanks Chris, I'd like to take you up on your offer of the 2 x W15, part No 41587 SS valves. Untill I get all the valves in and the system up and running I won't know how it will perform. If you'd like to PM me how much you'd like for these I'll send you a cheque and my address. I trust you're at yo...
