Re: TWO Waymaster 4.75/5.00 17 Tyres AS NEW for 10hp

Hi Shaft 1926! The sizes for the post war cars according to my handbook and the 1939-1947 Parts list are 10 4.75/17 12 5.25/17 14 & 16 & 20 5.50/17 All "Avon Standard" The wheels (T1382 Easyclean) are all the same. So the rim width is the same on all it appears. The only reason for the difference in...

Re: Boot handle locks

The single arm looks remarkably like one used on (typically) Morris |Minor Traveller rear doors? WBB is the trademark (?) name for Wilmot Bredon
You may be able to identify them from an old WB catalogue?

Re: Back to Chassis lubrication

Brilliant! The toaster saga was a new one to me! Of course I suppose all this became irrelevant with "sealed for life" bearings... with length of life not determined! Oh well, I am not going to wash out the grease and replace it with oil...I don't think there was anything much there for a long time,...

Re: Back to Chassis lubrication

The water pump auto-lubrication had been disconnected by a previous owner. In view of your comment (and my question(!) I will put a line in from the system (now I know it works!) I have a suitable spare meter valve. Meanwhile a bit of benign neglect will continue! Now about the prop shaft & UJ's. .....

Back to Chassis lubrication

I decided it was time to really check out the system following it's overhaul last year and about 1000 miles done. Situation: The oil level has dropped, so the pump was working...and there was witness of oil - particularly towards the rear of the car. but I was not convinced that the Heineken Syndrom...

Reavell Special now at Gaydon

I was at the Motor Museum at Gaydon the other day and they have just had in an interesting new exhibit. This is a Rover12 special "The Reavell Special" It is based on a 1935 12 shortened chassis, with a "tuned" 12hp engine and a two seater Abbott body...apparently it as done over 150000 miles & feat...

Re: 1947 Rover 12 Tourer

Right! Mine has an "export" chassis no, but was supplied for UK sale to Kent, It appeared to change hands very rapidly. How it avoided the "Covenant" forbidding sale of a new car -within two(?) years one can only imagine. Motor traders did not have a good name in those days! The end cap on the cylin...

TWO EXCELSIOR 4.75/5.00 17 Tyres AS NEW for 10hp

I have for sale a pair of virtually new Excelsior cross ply tyres Bought in Germany in June this year. They were an emergency purchase after I had two older tyres suffer punctures within 3 hours! I had them fitted to the Front wheels of my 1947 12hp tourer. They are a width too small for the 12 but...
