Rover 12 painting

Post by digcot65 » Fri Jan 01, 2021 11:07 am

Hello Happy New Year to all members. Before the Christmas lockdown where the garage was banned I managed to get the LH side of the bonnet finished. It took an unbelievable 64 hors to get it right, with painting it then rubbing it down as I wasnt happy with it This happened a few times ,really trying to get an 86 year old car looking as new is just about impossible unless you are willing to spend all your time restoring it ,and no time driving. The RH side of the bonnet is coming on ,I gave what I hoped was the final coat of black base paint but there were a few slight scratches and pin hole dings,so I went all over it with a flat spreader and very thin coat of Finnesage filler, really pushing down when spreading,so only the blemishes would be filled rather than a covering coat.So next week I can flat it down and give another base coat crossing fingers
