Out of hibernation

I brought Tilly out of hibernation and filled her up with some fresh petrol. I like to try and keep the tank almost empty over the winter so that I have fresh petrol at the start of the season.

MOT due this month so I will give her a quick look over, though I suspect nothing is required and book a test.

I came back from the filling station and gave her a wash, this was some pictures I took

Hi John,

Are those overirdes orginal or are they the French aluminum ones from P6 era? They look very nice but I have never seen that style before on a P2. Will you be at the national this year?

I took out my 105 out this weekend as well.

The over-riders are definitely not aluminium, they are heavily chromes items, so I really don't know the answer to your question, they were fitted to the car when I bought it. Looking back at the photos from Australia when the car was finally finished its restoration in 1983 they were certainly fitted then.

Checking the parts manual there are similar items on Plate T number T24 part number 42005 with part number 42024 being the rubber.
I will have a good look this year when I am at the SARR at The Falkirk Wheel in May.

As much as I would love to go to The National I doubt very much if I will be able to make it along as I am usually very busy at that time of the year with work commitments

Further investigation from a picture I took two years ago at Thirlestane Castle shows the rear of a few P2s and they also look similar.
