Petrol tank reserve valve 1939 10HP

Hello. Nearly there with this restoration . I find the change over valve is not functioning on tank and a continuity test to coil suggests an open circuit.
Has anyone repaired this unit or if I cannot obtain part will it default to work without electrical energising of coil?

I did. You can read about it here: http://wp.me/pXLKy-iO and here: http://wp.me/pXLKy-1nF. I gave the solenoid coil to a local shop for re-winding: this is a simple operation.
Some leaks had been detected using a hand-held vacuum pump, and cured with Loxeel. Without rectifing the leaks vapour locks can be expected.
