Hi There

The alternator I purchased was not the correct model for my car, so my mistake, it was exchanged without any problems, have now fitted the new one, problems solved with the charging issues now,I have disconnected the wiring associated with the voltage regulator and left it in place as per the original set up, I feel a lot more comfortable with the knowledge that everything is working correctly and automatically on the battery charging side now

Having looked at all the options before making a purchase, with regulating units being refurbished with a asking price £180 and a second hand unit realising £50- £75 its got to be a no brainer to fit a alternator unit that looks like a dynamo for £150 and put your worries to bed

Now onto the rest of the tidying up, touching up, searching for parts, spending too much money pleasure of owning a vintage car !

Mike
