Even simpler than that: release nut 9 and turn it down few mm. Do the same with knob 8, and fasten. Now push of rod 11 will bring the disk 12 further down and problem solved.

I think that is what I may have done accidentally!
I will fine tune it now.
In the handbook in answer to a complaint of difficulty to engage reverse,the answer given is to adjust the rod! But no details how to do it! The implication is that it is straightforward….apparently it is

I t is marginally better,so I will live with it! I don’t fancy removing/ dismantling the remote to get at the lock nut13! Unless I absolutely have to.
