OIL

Post by SNOBHILL39 » Thu Jun 12, 2014 5:17 pm

Trying to find the oils for g/box and rear axles for my 12, any one know this please.
Does the g/box have SAE30 engine oil and axle have Morris Golden Film AG90?

Thanks
Gerry

The Rover gear box contains critical parts made of bronze. Any oil which includes sulfur based additives will attack them.
Holden sells Penrite oils which are a good choice for old machines. https://www.holden.co.uk/displayproduct ... de=015.943
I am using it in my cars.

Penrite Gearbox oil 30 is recommended for the P2 gearbox
Penrite Mild EP Gear oil is recommended for the rear differential

Thanks chaps, there is a place in Ipswich who sell the oils, only 12 miles away so that's good for me.
