14 traffic actor switch!

Hi all, my steering column mounted trafficator switch is facing away from me and therefore operates backwards even though the mechanism is orientated correctly to cancel and the casing is fitted with the cable to the rear. How easy is it to dismantle and reposition operating handle so it faces me. I don't want one of those "springs & ball bearings everywhere" moments!

Can you not just swap the wires round so it operates correctly

That was my first thought, but still leaves the handle facing forwards not towards and therefore requires removing one hand from the wheel, or both if trying to change gear whilst crossing roundabouts.

I think I need a picture of the offending switch to try and understand what you mean

Just remove the two screws, turn the switch to the right direction, and replace the screws.

That doesn't work. The case has the flex outlet so won't locate into the self cancelling mechanism and the internal mechanism won't locate into the pins that allow self cancelling. Can I remove the bottom screw and turn the handle through 180 degrees?

Luli, many thanks for that link. That would appear to be exactly what I needed.
