Hi guys,

Re: 1938 Rover-16 - Chassis No: 951232. Date of Registration: 15th November '38.

Do any of you kind people know if the above Rover survives please?...I ask, as I have in my possession an old job-card from Messers: Appleyard of Leeds, (Main Rover Dealers) dated 30/12/58 - for works carried out on it, presumably following its sale by them...

If the car has survived, I'd like for this piece of its history to be reunited with it and its current owner!

Regards to all...

Guy. :)

Hello Andrew,

Oh well, never mind...it was worth asking :) ...& thanks for looking!

I might as well ask though sir, do you have any history of my latest acquisition?

She's a 1938 Rover 12 saloon - Reg No: JT9678, Chassis No: 811794 - Registered 29/07/38 in Sherbourn, Dorset - I've just bought her from the son of her last 'proper' owner: Major. John D. Harris, of Grove House, Stalbridge, Dorset - who owned the car from Nov-59 to late 2014 (when he passed away).

I understand that he purchased the car from its original owner (who was also an Officer in the Army) and who'd originally bought the car from the Rover dealership, E. Childs & Son's of Long Street, Sherborne. (Delivered 1st August '38).

If you do have any further info, I'd love to know anything you can tell me!

Kind Regards,

Guy.
