Rear window rubber seals - 1936 Rover 12 6-light

Time to put the glass back in, but just wanted to be sure that I have the correct profile for the rubber.

The old seal has a round profile at the end of the inner upstand. Am assuming (from condition) that this is ‘original .. as it left the factory’ but over 84 years can’t take anything for granted.
Have sourced a very close match, but before I start can anyone confirm that the round profile at the end of the inner upstand is genuine 1936 Rover ?. ( pic shows original from car, and new that I have sourced).

Finally, does anyone have any good advice on fitting the windows ?. (Dry, wet, fairy liquid, oil, string to help pull the outer profile into place, cut to exact length or add a few mm to compress ?).

So, I went with the seal as shown in the picture, and this has worked perfectly. The three windows are now in.

I did the job completely dry, and with no bonding of rubber to glass.

Useful points:

1. Start with the rear window first, as this leaves access through the two side windows as you are working (particularly if a one-man job). I realised this after completing the 1st side window, but still managed the rear (by using internal temporary support screws to hold it in place).

2. ‘Triplex’ signs on the windows .. I chose to have these readable from the outside at the rear and on the 1st side. When I got to the 2nd side window I realised that they were not manufactured (at least on my car) as separate left and right side glass. The ‘Triplex’ signs have been done the same for both windows, and thus one window wording is readable from inside and one from outside). Is this the same on all cars from this period ?? Or did mine get a replacement (wrong side) window at some point. It looks identical though. Check this, and decide which side you want this reversal of ‘Triplex’ to be on.

3. I used soft(ish) plastic trim removal tools to pull the external profile into place. No damage / scratching to the paint, and no damage to the rubber.

That’s about it .. took a couple of hours to do all three windows (inner painted aluminium trim profile to come off later when I get to interior retrimming).
