I took the Rover out this morning ,for a run .We live at the top of quite a steep long hill ,the engine ran fine, the gearbox I will get used to ,but the steering certainly floats I am going to have the steering tracking and caster angle checked next week.I noticed driving back up the hill that the car spluttered and slowed down almost to a halt However when I finally reached our house I could hear the SU pump rattling away like mad,so seems as though I had less fuel than I thought ,plus the fact that the car was on quite an incline so the fuel may have been all at the back of the tank.Ill make sure I have enough in there before I take it for the steering check.Hopefully they will find, that the tracking and caster angles do need to be set better. When I returned to the garage and the engine was warm, I tried adjusting the needle setting, but it didn`t seem to make a lot of difference to the smoothness of the tickover .I expected quite a variation in the tick over speed as the nut was adjusted.Len

Make sure you don't have bubbles in the petrol supply. See here: https://wp.me/pXLKy-1nF
