Tilly website

Post by 47p2 » Wed Jun 08, 2022 9:10 pm

When I sold Tilly back in 2015 the website was included in the sale. Unfortunately the new owner did not want to take on the upkeep of a website and I was left with it. I kept it online for a further 3 years but with hosting costs going up every year I decided in 2018 to pull the plug.

However before I did I kept the webpages in the hope a future owner would want to put it online again, sadly that hasn't happened either as the new owner isn't very competent with a computer.

Due to a number of P2 owners asking me to reinstall the website I decided to try and recreate it and found somewhere for building and hosting, so I've been busy working through the many pages and have around half of it completed.

Please have a look and if you spot any errors, spelling mistakes or bloopers please let me know

Thanks Phil and Mike.
I felt bad for taking the site down in 2018 then everyone kept asking me if I would put it back online.

I can highly recommend the Wordpress platform, it takes a little bit of learning but isn't over complicated. Once you get the hang of it, adding or changing content is simple and takes seconds. Hardest part is getting a template that you're happy with then everything else is easy.

Anyone who has a car that has an interesting history should build a website, or if you just want your car's presence online you should help keep the marque going by building a website to let others see how good the Rover is.

The P2 and P3 seem to be less popular at the moment compared to other cars from this era. I can still buy a P2 for around the same money as I could 10 years ago, that's not right, we all should be doing more to promote these amazing cars and let the rest of the world know what they are missing.
Prices have not kept up with inflation and I'm unsure of the reason why. There are still plenty classic enthusiasts in the P2/P3 age band out there but they tend to go for other (lesser) marques and the poor man's Rolls is left behind.
