I have started on the trim on #58 tourer now that the doors fit properly and most things work! I have decided to save everything that I can possible from the original (even the overpainted fabric) . In brief the carpets are totally gone apart from the toe board and the section under the back seat. These are good and show the quality of the original workmanship. The majority of the trim sections are saveable apart from the door trim cards, which are a disaster zone, but again sufficient remains to replicate. I have had one major piece of luck. The door cards are covered in dark green Rexine; this material has not been around readily since the early 1950's when "Vynide" etc came onto the market. A few years ago someone began to remake Rexine (it is a fine fabric coated in coloured nitro-cellulose), but it was VERY expensive and in limited colours. Main application was for vintage Bentley tourer bodies I think!
My good fortune was to come across a company that makes Nitro-cellulose covered cloth for bookbinding! Wide range of colours, wide enough (1.25m) and much cheaper. Good people to deal with as well. As a matter of interest the parts list for the P2 calls for "Rexine", "American Cloth" and "Buckram". I have no idea where the American Cloth (still around for wipe clean tablecloths!) or Buckram are used.
The suppliers of the Rexine equivalent (called ARBETEX) and Buckram, for that matter, are

I was able to source 3mm ply at B&Q and Bresco have similar to original keepers (970P) and clips (316P) to hold the trim boards on to the doors. They are for RR & Bentley and Rover (priced appropriately!). NOTE. These are in fact for P4/P5 Rovers and need a 5/16" or 8mm hole in which to engage. The P2 uses a 1/4" dia hole. Easy enough to open up where needed.
