hydraulic brakes

Post by P2V8 » Thu Dec 10, 2009 1:33 pm

Has anyone carried out any modifications to the p2 brakes, namely converting the fronts to hydraulic? I can't have much faith in rod brakes with over 250 HP of Chevrolet V8 power, but do not want ugly discs. Are P3 fronts 2leading shoe, failing that it looks like the 11" drums from a London Taxi are current favourites.
Also want to fit 16" wheels, they hit the NS Steering arm,any ideas?

Hi,

I would consider using a P3 front end with independant suspension as oppose to a solid axle. P3 front brakes are hydralic and can be easily adapted to use a single circut brake booster. I think it would also be quite easy to use a P3 steering box as well or even a P5 power steering box possibly.

Good luck

As I said in the other post have a look at a P4 set up. They did make them with disc from the early 60. Thats what I'm looking at.
