Unknown parts

Hi all,

I am currently restoring a P3 (and have been for some time)

I am now puzzled by the the 2 parts shown. They are steel and measure 25 3/4" long 1 1/2" wide and 1/8" thick. I can't remember removing these when disassembling the car but they certainly came with it.

Can anybody out there tell me what these parts are??

On another note I am struggling to find what type of seal fits in the gap between the bottom of the door glass and the door, any suggestions would be welcomed.
