The Old Girl

Post by johnwp5bcoupe » Wed Sep 02, 2009 8:52 am

Hi I thought I would have a post as it seems a very quiet section there are a few familiar names I can recognise ;) I met the chairman of the RSR "sorry Mike I missed your surname" :? at Knebworth I used to be a member when I was restoring a 6 light P3 tooooo many years ago! I was beaten by the cost of doing the interior so when I did my P5b I have had since 73 I wasn't going to be beaten I taught myself how to sew 8-) I can do any other job so it had to be learnt made a few mistakes in the process practicing but got there in the end ;) moral of the story don't give in.

Thanks for the welcome the only other car I would take on would be a 6 light sports again ;) I now have the time being early retired I logged my time on my coupe and gave up a 3560 so around 2 years of my life was it worth it :D
Are there many P5/P5b members?

John.

Hi John,

I understand your pain my investment in my P5B Coupe is only matched by P3 6 light. Measured in 10s of thousands.

Good to see you on the RSR forum

Hi Dirk another familiar name ;) time shouldn't be important on a restoration and as you know you will reap the benefits of taking your time 8-)

Hi John,

It was great to meet you and and your wife at Knebworth, the first time I have attended, looking forward to next year. I can testify that the P5B coupe looks great and if memory serves, it won an award at Knebworth.

Best regards

Mike Maher
