AMBLA Upholstery material sources

Post by patrick hiron » Fri Mar 13, 2009 7:04 pm

The wearing areas of the front seats of my NADA p6B have dried out and cracked beyond repair [ so much for wonder plastics!!]Can any one suggest a source for replacement materials or even seat sections ?. The seats are tan coloured and are finished in a ridge and valley design with perforation in the valleys . This material was also used in 120 and 140 series Volvos

The Ambla or Amblair was ICI' 's answer for leather substitute and was the top of range plastic it came in olain and perforated and was similar to Mercedes Benz MB Tex. This has a waffle type hole

It was used on quite a few cars of 1960/70 all over Europe and I have seen a similar stuff on US cars.
