Does anyone know how to get or retrieve the immobiliser security number to allow you to bypass the immobiliser.I have radio number, key no (an rm +four digit code) I also have a four digit code but am not sure whether this is the code to allow me to override the immobiliser.
I seem to have an intermittant non start problem that occurs when I turn the ignition key and nothing happens...eventually after a couple of key turns it starts. On other occasions I get a jingle noise necessitating pressing the key fob and attempting a restart which tends to be successful
The AA tested the car and found nothing wrong with it recently. Can anyone suggest how I can verify the code numbers and perhaps a solution to this problem.
many thanks in anticipation to this request :

Do you have the handbook which tells you how to enter the Emergency Key Access (EKA) code via the driver's door lock? If so, next time it plays up, you could give it a try.
Best of British Rover (0121) 526 5444 (Darlaston, near Wolverhampton), http://www.alarmremotes.co.uk" target="_blank and http://www.remotekey.co.uk" target="_blank can help out - they can decode your ECU to check what the EKA code is and, I think, can reprogramme it so that the immobiliser doesn't activate.
