I Need Advice on Rover 75 Diesel Engine Performance Issues

Hello there,
I recently purchased a 2004 Rover 75 Connoisseur SE with the BMW sourced 2.0 diesel engine. It is a beautiful car with a lot of life left in it; but I have been facing a few performance issues lately; and I was hoping to get some advice from the knowledgeable members of this forum.
The car starts fine and runs smoothly most of the time; but occasionally; it seems to lose power when accelerating; especially on inclines or when overtaking. It feels like the engine hesitates or stutters for a few seconds before picking up again.
There are no warning lights on the dashboard; and I have had a local garage check it over; but they could not find any obvious faults.
Despite these efforts; the issue persists. I have read online that the EGR valve could cause similar symptoms if it is clogged or malfunctioning; but I am not sure if that is the case here. Has anyone experienced similar issues with their Rover 75?
Also; I have gone through this post; https://www.rover-forum.thersr.co.uk/viewtopic.php?ccsp=4407 which definitely helped me out a lot.
Could it be something as simple as a clogged fuel injector or perhaps something more serious with the turbo?
Thanks in advance for your help and assistance.
