RSR AGM 2010

The Club's AGM is next Saturday, 25 September. In an effort to increase availability for members I am attempting to stream the AGM live via the club website. My experiments have so far gone well and I anticipate that we should be able to do it. The AGM is at the Gaydon Heritage museum and I am depending on their Internet service being available to us. As with all these things there are many technical things to overcome so I apologise in advance if it doesnt happen.

If all goes well you should be able to see and hear the events at the AGM and I will create a special email agm@thersr.co.uk which will only be active for the day for members to send in questions that they wish to ask, the answers should then be availble on the video stream, it is unlikely there will be time to email back individually. Please note that only paid up members of the RSR are able to ask questions although all are welcome to watch.

The stream will be availble on the following page

http://www.thersr.co.uk/members-pages/agm_stream

This will be availble under the members tab on the website for the day. In the meantime it may be availble depending on any testing I am doing this week.

I think this is a first for any Car club to stream live their AGM and hopefully shows the RSR to be ahead of the game, I just hope it works. I would appreciate any comments.

Putting my faith in technology:

The email agm@thersr.co.uk is now live.
Please note it will only be monitored during the AGM which will be approximately from 14:00 to 16:30 Saturday 25th September.
Please use it to ask questions during the QandA session.
Please include your membership number in the email so we can make sure you are a member

Thankyou for participating in this experiment, comments will be collected via the forum after the event.

AGM Postscript

It worked, from what I understand very well. It is always a little daunting carting PCs Camera etc into a new place and hoping it all works. Anyway it did and thanks to those who joined in. There were not hundreds watching or joining in but it did increase the availbility and has proved that it can be done. Those that did join in were able to interact directly with the Club's Directors and have a direct influence which is exactly what a club should be able to do.

I hope we can have more streaming events where necessary, keep tuned to RSR TV.

Paul
