Lucas Alto Horh-setting up

Post by DavidTayler » Fri Dec 26, 2008 3:56 pm

Does anyone have any instructions for setting up a Lucas Alto horn.I have dismantled mine and cleaned the contacts. It now makes a noise but there are several variables to adjust and there should be a logical way to do it. I have checked the workshop manual and it is not in there. Happy New Year to all. David

Hi David, What I found was information attached to some horn gaskets I bought from a chap called Taff. He has a very compehensive website full of horn information.
His site is www. taffthehorns.com

Its very important to use exactly the same thickness gaskets, I impregnated mine with vaseline to help prevent them absorbing water, warming the gaskets to aid penetration. This is because dry gaskets absorb moisture.

I am sure an email to Taff will help solve the problem. Best of Luck.
