I have set the recorder for an upcoming programme on April 30th at 5.30 a.m. on Talking Pictures. It is half an hour on Rover cars being built and tested in 1931. A search on YouTube has not turned it up although the cognoscenti may already be aware of it.
Update - just watched it and rather good it was too. Not quite mass production as we know it, more like small teams fitting their bits, fitting as opposed to assembling. The road testing was interesting! I particularly enjoyed the pressing of the radiator shells and the gear being machined which I thought was really impressive. Noteworthy too was how much wadding was compressed in a sort of Christmas tree packer to fill the door/seat pleats.
