Thanks to those who contacted me about the Phone apps we released last week, we have taken comments on board and have now released a new version. Please unistall/delete the old one as it will not be updated. This one now not only reads the forum posts but also interacts with the main web site, allowing the phone user to read the list of latest events and contact the event organiser directly, to read the latest posts on this forum, to get the list of Local Events and use google maps directly from the phone to get directions.
The phone app also gives access to the classified ads on the web site as well as general information about the club.

Tapping the Forum bar produces a list of the latest posts
Tapping the About bar shows a copy of the info from the web site
The Local Meeting tab shows our local meetings and if your phone supports GPS you can get streaming directions on how to get there.
Tapping the Events bar shows a list of all the latest events the RSR knows about in chronological order, this is updated every 24hrs from the main website and allows the phone user to contact the organiser directly.
Tapping the media icon shows a list of RSR videos from recent events, the list will grow as we format them for phones.

How to get the new app:
This app is for Android phones and tablets only,
Step 1 - configure your phone to allow installation of non-market applications (normally found in the Applications settings in Phone settings)
Step 2 - from your phone go to http://174.142.192.87/builds/00098/9851 ... TheRSR.apk often the easiest way is to send the link to yourself as an email then click on the link on the phone.
Thats it. The app will be updated but this will happen automatically and you shouldn't need to download it again.
ps There does appear to be a slight glitch in the topics feed from this forum, on some phones there is a white square with a ? in it on each topic. We are working on this.
