Re: Glass templates for Rover P3 1948
If you have wooden coach-built doors they are often individual and may have warped so even if you take a pattern off another set of windows they may not fit well. I would make patterns out of 3ply plywood. When I did this on a four door car I used the smallest possible size that would fit both sides, to avoid having each piece being different. I would always use toughened glass for the sides and rear and only use laminated for the windscreen. Toughened glass is stronger, won't scratch easily and can't delaminate. It would probably work out cheaper as there is less work involved in cutting, polishing and sealing the edge. I used Autoglass to do my windows and was very satisfied with the result.

Hi Kartik
Is your P3 a 6 Light Saloon or a 4 Light Sports Saloon, as some of the glass is different.
The RSR may have some glass in their Parts Store ( they had an "Open Day" today ).
They may be able to help you with some templates, best to contact Mike Maher
(Chairman) as he is looking after the Stores at the moment.
I'll speak to him tomorrow at the Classic Car Restoration Show near Birmingham.
Rgds, Chris C

Thanks David, your suggestion would be the only option left if I cannot get the templates.Chris C wrote:Hi Kartik

Hello Kartik,
Unfortunately the only identifiable P3 glass in the stores is from the 4 light sports saloon that is different from the 6 light saloon. However I will keep on looking.
Best regards
Mike

Hi All,
I am still on the lookout for the glass templates,
in case any one has a car P3 -6 underestoration and can trace the glasses for me,
I would be very grateful.
