A friend touring New Zealand spotted a 1915 Rover-Sunbeam ambulance I hope he got a picture. Does anybody know what configuration this would have?

According to Graham Robson and George Oliver, Rover built 1,781 Sunbeam 16/20 chassis, some finished as staff cars and the rest as ambulances on direction from the government.

Another one may have turned up. Do we know who has the register of the half dozen or so known survivors? It's not me, but could be someone in the Sunbeam club?

According to figures produced by L.C.Pedler for H.B.Light in 1963, there were 1055 Rover-Sunbeams produced in 1918 but there are no other details of body type etc. However he does list 'Lorries' with 100 produced in 1915, 326 in 1916 and 73 in 1918 for the war effort.

A friend of mine, who belongs to the Sunbeam Talbot Darracq club, sent me this link
http://www.vlib.us/medical/ambulnce/ambulnce.htm . The club magazine published an article about this in 2008. If you follow the link and scroll down the page you will find a photo of the last surviving Rover Sunbeam ambulance that he saw in New Zealand.
