I bought the ' Barn Find ' Rover 10 Hp on ebay, its original and complete, The registration no. is VSJ 156, which is not original..Does anyone know the original number and any history ? Its black with the white coach lines still visible, the engine is painted green, which is also original and the interior is in fairly good shape considering its long life in a barn ! The original reg.no could be on a modern car..as it would appear that its been transferred...probably around the 1950's. Thanks. Chris Dancey

Chris I have been looking at the RSR Archive and the original number JB 6729 has been transferred to another vehicle. The owner was in Dartford in 2000. That' s all the info we have

Information from Andrew McGovern ( RSR Pre-1950 Archivist ) : Copied from Re:12HP engine Topic

According to the RSR archive database records this car came first into the club in 1986 under the ownership of Eric Bowman who lived in Scotland with the original Reg. No. JB 6729, Berkshire issue for 1935, he described it as condition ' G ' ie off road in need of restoration.

Then appeared for sale in FW233 of June 1992 for sale possibly suitable for spares???not sure who the seller was.
Next appeared in the club under the ownership of Stewart Lawson who lived in Kent, he purchased it in Jan 2000, still condition 'G' but with Reg. No. VSJ 156.

Out of interest according to info I have to hand the Rover Co. produced 1,752 Rover 10's in 1935 starting with chassis no. 501001 through to chassis no. 502752,
and the chassis no. of JB 6729 / VSJ 156 is the last one for 1935 on our database.

.....also, information from Mike Maher, the number JB 6729 may not be recoverable because it has been transferred to a Kia Cee'd Ls Crdi ( 5 Door Hatchback ), date of first registration 31 07 2007 and is currently taxed.

Many thanks to Andrew and Mike for the information update. Chris

Hi Chris
The car in question under Mr Bowman ownership first came into the club in 86, its Reg No. was AV 6619 and described as condition B with black body and blue interior.

It was again in the club in 1995 with an owner in Fife no other details, and has been in the club since 2006 with an owner in Aberdeen but with Reg No. 764 UXP, in 2009 renewal described as condition 'E', an every day runner.

I also have a note that the Reg No. AV 6619 was for sale on a website in Jan 07 for £2,000.???

So seems we have another car that has lost its original Reg No.

Regards
Andrew
