I am in the process of repainting the engine of our 1934 ( 35 model ) '10 ' ' Snowdrop ' after rebuilding, and have thankfully been able to source an almost exact colour of engine paint. This is with the assistance of ' Denzel ' which still has areas of the engine that retains its original paint.

After photographing the colour to produce a paint chart I went on line to try to find a match, ......eventually through a US Restoration Site I found a match with a company who specialises in restoring Buicks, and after further enquiries was told the colour was...you've guessed it ' Buick Green '...and the great news is that its available in the UK from Frosts ( http://www.frost.co.uk 01706 658619 ) product code P300 Buick Green Engine Enamel....total price £24.95 inc p&p vat etc. for 1 pint. I have opened the tin and its looks a very good match...will let you know once the engine is painted and the resultant shade is revealed.

I have now painted the engine block in ' Buick Green ' and allowed to dry and i can now report on the final result.

I am pleased with the match, the original engine colour might have been a tad ' bluer ' but there could also have been a slight change in colour from the original paint shade when new.

So there we have it, an almost exact shade of engine paint thats available in the uk, using original car 'Denzel' as the pattern.
