Its my intention to convert ' Denzel ' 1935 ' 10 ' from a saloon into a tourer, the main reasons are that I already have a saloon ( Snowdrop ) and ' Denzel ' is in such poor condition, with severe roof damage, missing door and window winding equipment, all doors are seriously in bad condition etc, that creating a tourer seems sensible....

Can anyone help me with scale drawings of a tourer, not worried about which model as I will need to scale down or alter dimentions to suit. There was a 10 Tourer in around 1933, but not for 1935, although there is the 12. Has anyone attempted this conversion ?

As I'm sure you know, the 34-6 tourers were built on the short chassis so you will be able to replicate a Rover tourer acurately. I acquired the patterns from when Phoenix restorations, who made a few replicas, packed up, however, there is not a complete set, nor are there any drawings. However, I'll help if I can. I have a couple to build myself, the incomplete remains of cars broken by a Cornwall owner many years ago.

Sounds good to me. It will be a step up and I look forward to the challenge...as soon as you are ready to go let me know, the difficult bit will probably be the ash frame, but maybe we can arrange that together.

What is needed is a tourer owner who is happy to help out with dimensions, photos etc

' Denzels ' bodyshell is pretty much beyond reclaim, everything is there mechanically. Once I have finished Snowdrop ( Denzel is my reference standard ) then I will make a start on Denzels chassis, engine etc , I am happy to start with the ash frame before the mechanics if thats how it works out.

My friend Richard is moving his workshop soon to a new premises and opposite is a joinery business who have made bespoke ash frames in the past. Once we move I will make some enquiries and see what is possible....or affordable !
