Hi from Brisbane, Australia
I have had a P4 for about a year now and it is still be readied for road use. Still trying to bleed the brake system.........months of trying.
Re: Hi from Brisbane, Australia
Welcome to the forum.
It could be a faulty master cylinder that is not allowing the brakes to be bled.
HAve you tried using one of the power bleeding kits available?

Re: Hi from Brisbane, Australia
Thanks for the advice. As I delve deeper into the problem I am finding I have a complete non standard brake system. A previous owner had fitter front and rear non standard discs which worked quite well when I drove the vehicle from Sydney to Brisbane (1000km) After putting the vehicle up on blocks to sort out play in the steering and do a thorough check of the vehicle I found the master cyclinder weeping. I had it professionally rebuilt but have just realised that it is not an original although it bolts up to the original bolt holes. It is stamped "Lockheed" so I presume it has come of another British car with under-floor master Cyl. The vacumn servo is also non standard but looks very new. I have tried pressure bleeding with a home kit but can't get a seal on the tank. I have had lots of suggestions from my local rover club but no success yet. One suggestion was to just bleed the Master Cyl first which worked well but when reconnected to the system still would not allow total bleeding. When I return home next week I will try and bleed the Master Cyl and Servo together, leave overnight and check whether they have stayed free of air overnight.
I welcome any further suggestions, Bob Brisbane Aust. (Rover P4 90)
