Hi, I'm Steve, I live in Australia and I have 2 P3's and a 3rd car for parts(body is stuffed). I grew up being exposed to the Rover marque by my mates family, despite being mainly interested in Australian cars such as Holdens myself. My mates family have owned P3's, P5, P6's and S1 and S2 Land Rover's so when they told me they were selling one of there P3's I had to make room for it in my shed. They also knew a bloke who had another two P3's that belonged to his deceased father so a deal was done for those two cars.
The Rover I brought off my mate runs and is drivable and with a little work will pass road worthy, it will end up being restored in time however my plan is to get it on the road while I do up the other car. The 3rd cars body has some rust however someone has taken to it with a grinder to remove the striker plates from the door pillars so its pretty much had it as far as being a viable restoration goes.
So as well as having two 1960's Holdens I have got my self into potentially trouble and debt with a couple of P3's

Hi Steve,
The Australian P3's seem to be collecting on this forum which is great
I have recently been in contact with Adrian in SA who has a P3 and was looking for bumper brackets - I am just outside Canberra & have 2 P3's (one 4 light, one 6 light). I took the 4 light to to Wheels Days in Canberra in March which was her 1st real run since I bought her last year (there are some pictures on this forum in the P3 section). The other P3 is in bits at the moment & probably won't see much done on it for sevaral years as the dollars are going to the 4 light. I am currently rebuilding a spare gearbox as the one I'm running at the moment is a bit noisy.
I may also be looking for big end shells in the near future - do you happen to know a good source for these?
Where abouts do you live - anywhere near Canberra?
Regards Neil

Hi Neil,
Im north of Brisbane. Good to hear there are a few Aussies on here with P3's.
To get my drivable car on the road Im looking at replacing the rear spring shackle bushes, probably replacing the wiring loom to be on the safe side so she wont spontaneouesly combust and have the seats recovered and making sure there are no fluid leaks.
Id like to take it to a few shows in its current state.
Im thinking the rovers will be a fresh change from playing with Holdens, Ive recently done up my 69 GTS Monaro so once all the little jobs have been done on that ill be getting stuck into the other rovers restoration.
I'll have a look next time i get a chance(wont be for a couple of months) and see if I have any spare bumper brakets. I know Ive only got two sets of bumper bars and there probably not that good.
Engine parts im not so sure about just yet, my mate made a few contacts when he restored his 48 Landrover for that type of stuff so Ill ask him some time. The only thing I could think of is getting them ex UK.
