Hi from Germany

Post by odin » Sun Aug 25, 2013 9:26 am

Hi everybody,

Odin will be the name of our projected special, built on the chassis and with the engine of an 1939 Rover 14 with 1900 ccm.
We are Marc and Martin, two guys from the south part of Germany, who own several classic cars (Triumph TR6, Jaguar Mk2, Porsche 356, Porsche 912) but never tried to do a complete restoration. Wish us good luck.

When we found how to include pictures into this forums we will do ;)

Welcome. Odin was the name of a 16/50 special built by the comoany in the 1920s, best of luck with yours. There are instructions on how to post pictures, see the link on the Board Index page.

Hi Stewart

That´s pretty cool with the Odin racer. Do you have any more information on it?

Best regards

Hi Marc & Martin, here are a couple of pages from an article in 1926

Sorry about the quality, I only had photocopies to start with.

I am also thinking of building a replica of a 1933 14hp Trials Special that was built around 1939. I have two engines, and two each of the front and rear axles, copies of the original plans and a number of photos and magazine articles about it. I also have a saloon car as a base, I was trying to avoid shortening the chassis but I have been unable to find another one so the one I have might get the chop, the bodywork is pretty much beyond salvage.

This car has an engine similar to yours although the head is the other way round, but the chassis is totally different.

Hi Stewart

thanks a lot, that is very interesting. Your project is quite similar to ours, but we decided to stick to the long chassis (wheel base is 290 cm). Good luck and keepus in the line :-) Of course we will also start to post in this forum about the restoration.

Best regards
