Greetings from across the pond! I recently acquired a 1967 P5 Mark III Coupe. This is not my first British car as I have owned several including a 1985 Jaguar XJ6, a 1989 XJS and for brief periods of time a 1968 and 1972 Rolls.

I have spent considerable time reading and researching Rover and the various models. Despite the quality and style of the brand they never achieved significant sales here. That makes the cars very rare sights but conversely makes parts a challenge.

Thanks to all of the members who provide all of the insight and information for those of us without the expertise. I look forward to a long and successful future with the P5!

I have not driven the P5 yet to provide any impressions. I anticipate delivery in the spring and intend to drive it the 250 or so miles to Dirk's Rover event in Fitchburg, MA this summer. I suspect the car will have a difficult time matching the drive of the 85 Jag I once owned as 20 plus years of advancements in engineering provide the Jag an unfair advantage!!

I went to your site and read with interest your story on finding and acquiring Tilly. What a great car! I am glad to see that you drive and enjoy the car. Very often people in the States store classics and fail to enjoy that part of ownership.

Hi Rob, Glad you enjoyed Tilly's story, old cars are here to be driven and enjoyed, not hidden away in garages.

I think you might be surprised at just how good the P5 is considering the 20 year gap between that and the Jaguar.

No obviously it won't be as sprightly, but it will be very comfortable.

Don't forget the pictures when you take delivery
