Hi Chris
This chassis is from a 1936 Speed 14 Streamline Coupe and has been on display as a rolling chassis at the Molesworth Museum up near Chester for many years, I first saw it in 1992/3 at which time I was restoring one of these cars so I had a long and interesting chat with the Curator who had owned it for some 20 years already and hoped to restore it 'one of these days'. In fact I had a call from fellow RSR member Tony Davis confirming it was still on display last summer, who also spoke with the Curator who told him it was still his intention to restore/rebuild 'one of these days'.

We have no previous history on the RSR archive database prior to my discovering the chassis at the Molesworth Museum in 1992/3, but the chassis number which I took down confirms it is a chassis from a 1936 Speed 14 Streamline Coupe.

Condition wise it all looked good when I saw it 20 years ago and Brightwell's pictures indicate it is still in a similar condition, therefore I feel with all the Speed 14 running gear including triple carbs and the Rudge Whitworth splined wheels in situ you may well find considerable interest from a number of existing Speed 14 owners whose cars are under restoration and in need of mechanical parts who would be very happy to get their hands on whats on offer, in which case the guide price might well be exceeded??

I know when I was seeking parts for my Speed 14 back in the 1990's I would have been very interested.

I will watch the outcome with interest
