Looking good, John. I showed the pictures to Phillippa last night and she was mighty impressed - I'm glad I married a car enthusiast!
She's not used to seeing Rovers looking so good.

The final part of detailling before judgement is served
I thought I best give Tilly a spruce up underneath as the judges usually get down on bended knees for a look. I didn't want to go silly on this as there is plenty of oil around her.
I found when I was detailing the engine bay that if I looked at it I never saw the problem areas, so I took photos and from them I could easily identify the areas that were needing attention.
This is underneath the running boards, the sills are fine, nothing required here

What the judges will see from the back
This was taken before cleaning up

As I said earlier it's easier to see the faults by looking at a photo and this is what I meant. I sprayed the petrol tank with some Waxoyl and took a picture, what I never saw until looking at the picture was the bottom edge of the boot lid was needing a clean & polish

Much better

The front which could also do with a rub over with a cloth

After

and for any mechaphiles out there, no I don't stick dusters up my exhaust, it's dirty, very dirty and shall stay that way

Well done - was it worth all the sweat, aggro and elbow grease?

It most certainly was worth all the sweat, aggro and elbow grease. Had I not made the effort I could easily have came home empty handed and then it would not have been worth the petrol to and from the event.
As for trailering the car, what's the point of owning it if I can't drive it. I've just travelled 80 miles from Glasgow to Lauder through some heavy rain, arrived at the event where I gave the car a quick wipe over and won best in class, if I can make the effort surely others can too.
