If the headlamp bars have cast ends (like the passlamp bar) secured into chromed steel tube with a pin, (this should be obvious if the chrome plater strips the part and returns it to you)
strip the bar down and find an appropriate length of thick wall Stainless tube. Either rechrome the ends or reproduce them in stainless. You may find that an adhesive like araldite or locktite is sufficient to hold the ends, otherwise replace the pin with a stainless item.

Hope this helps.

Just Mini bulkhead blanking plates and alternator adjusters. They were cut on a CNC water cutter. Really amazing machine. I just gave them the computer model and the machine did the rest. It'd be expensive for one offs but you can cram lots of different shapes into the file and cut them out all in one go.

Further to my earlier posts.....I have gone ahead and asked my engineers to make me four headlamp bars out of brass, I would have liked bronze which is stronger and more expensive, in their opinion brass would be suitable and of course once chromed should last a good while.

The Rover/Girling brake adjusters are not prone to seizure but the steady posts are.
