Need Information about a Rover 12 Bj. 1937

Post by Sturgis » Wed Aug 17, 2011 8:58 am

Hello,
My name is Michael and I live in Munich. Please excuse my bad english, but the school is already long time ago. I hope you can understand me.
Since two years I build radiocontrolled car models, mainly off-road.
At the moment I look, with great pleasure, the TV series "All Creatures Great and Small".
Now the wish is awakened in me to build a radiocontrolled model from the car wich is driven by Siegfried Farnon. I found out that it is a Rover 12 build in 1937. Unfortunately I have found no pictures of the car from the series at the Internet .
I found some images from the Rover 12 Bj.1937, but to build the car I need more accurate information and pictures. I already found some valuable information here. Thank you for that.
What I do need are detailed plans (blueprints ?) from the side, front, above and below. Mostly I need a drawing of the chassis (from the side and from above) with the dimensions. I have also found no information about how the rear wheel axle is fixed.
What is the outer and inner diameter and width of the tires?
The Rover 12 from 1937 is also designate as P2, and was built by 1937 to 1948. Is this correct? Are the chassis, the measurements and the technique remained unchanged throughout the period? Can I also take informations about a Rover 12 from 1947? Or have changed anything about the technique, for example the type of rear suspension, or the measures?
I hope I don´t disturb to much and you can help me.

Thank You very much, Michael

Hi Sturgis, welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have an interesting project there

You can find plenty of measurements of the 1937 Rovers by clicking this link and scrolling to the bottom of the page.

Hallo,

thank You, this helps me.
Please, is the Tire size in Inch? Is this the outer Diameter? I thought the Tires are bigger.
Have anyone Pictures from the Chassis and the Axles?

Thank You, Michael
