rover 10 saloon spare wheel cover

Post by mark » Mon Jan 23, 2012 2:01 pm

Could anyone please help me with the design, shape and size of the curly brass clip rivetted to the top of the spare wheel cover which is held down by the chrome lever on the body above the cover?

In a previous life the cover fell off, as what was holding it on were 2 pieces of brass which may have originally been one piece curled upwards to form a spring.
The badge got smashed and various dents were evident.

Everything is now in good primer finish with a replacement badge, I have removed the rivetted brass bits which now require renewal and rivetting back before the respray.

Any help with this in the form of photos or a sketch will be greatly appreciated .

You can contact me on email : markluff@btinternet.com or on tel. 01489 895330.

My total nut and bolt rebuild is at respray stage, with all running gear ready to go back on, all chroming done, new loom made, all timber complete, dash rebuilt and much of the trim cut out or made up ready.

Sliding roof needs tidying, carpets and headlining plus leather still to source.

If anyone needs any info on how the 1937 10 saloon comes apart and goes together please let me know.

Chris Dancey and I have been crawling under our respective vehicles and exchanging photographs and information for many months now as his two earlier 10s surprisingly share a lot of similarities.

I look forward to hearing from anyone who can help or needs help.
