Luggage net and rear sun blind

Post by RovingJoel » Thu Mar 13, 2014 9:02 pm

Hello all.

Just got Audrey my 1936 ('37 model) 10hp saloon out from her winter hibernation. Started first turn of the key after a little hand turn to get the oil flowing. Looking forward to another year of motoring and fettling.

Can any one suggest anywhere to get a reproduction of the luggage net made? Chris Dancey suggested a local macrame group but I don't seem to be able to find one near to me (Lincoln).

I'm also trying to track down all the parts for the rear window sun blind as they are unfortunately all missing. If anyone has any bits I would be very interested.

Many thanks.

Happy Rovering.

Hello Joel,

Sorry you are not having any luck with the macrame group, my next door neighbour made mine when he was active in this pastime.

Reference the rear blind and roller. I have just researched how to put together a set from modern supplies. My local blind shop obtained a wooden roller with one correct end ( with the flat blade ) and I have sourced the other end ( with the spike ) from a company in the USA. As of yet I have been unable to find a suitable replacement for the brackets.

I can give details if you email me.
