Wanted: 1932/3 Rover 10 special replacement engine

Hi all,
After a somewhat frustrating couple of weeks, I am now looking for a replacement engine for my (otherwise lovely) Rover 10 Special.
I have been doing some digging and turned into a major private detective, having now tracked down and spoken to the original owner, but more importantly to the guy who did the restoration. He tells me that the engine was pretty knackered (over skimmed and very thin/poor pistons) and he was suprised that he managed to get it going!
Long and short is he suggests trying to find something to replace it rather than throw good money after bad.
I appreciate all the purist ambitions of trying to retain originality but is there any other type of engine that will fit the 'floating' engine mounting arrangement?
If anyone has any pointers to a solution I'd be eternally grateful.
Thanks
